Do not take me
to all the places
I have been before.

Do not lead me
back to all the darkness,
I implore.

I have been there already
and I’ve seen what could be seen.

So take me now,
to all the places
I have never been.

Take me now
to joy and ease;
to playfulness and grace.

Walk me softly
to forgiveness -
gently, not with haste.

Guide me to my inner power -
God, I love that place.

Take me to my higher self -
hold a mirror to my face

Let me see myself closely,
get to know all my facets.

Let me embrace my value,
and admire all my assets.

Not my jewels and false glimmers,
not my outward smiles;

But the inner glowing strength
that’s helped me walk for miles;

The grit that’s helped me tread through mud
and glide right over danger;

The power that has guided me
toward the wiser wager.

Help me, please, to see myself
in all my unseen Glory.

Help me live my life in full,
not trapped inside some story.

Help me to open arms so wide,
they cannot help embracing

All that’s already come to pass,
And all that I am facing.

Help me move without striving
to the places I must be;

And at each moment,
come what may,
just help me to be me.

My humble hope
is that this path
will help me feel more free.

I’ll just step onto it, with faith,
and day by day, we’ll see.
