Healing

I am stepping out of darkness
Moving on through all my blues
Walking forth, to greener pastures
Where? I haven’t got a clue.

Once, I took my sorrow with me,
Dragged it everywhere I went,
And I cried, I bawled, I hollered,
Sobbed and wept till I was spent.

I don’t know where healing came from.
I just felt the strongest love
Enveloping me entirely
Fitting warmly, like a glove.

Now, my seas of tears are drying.
I lay weary on their beach.
I look out on calmer waters:
Freedom floats within my reach.
